Re: building a computer! (finally)
I agree with this completely.iRandomness wrote:Prioritize onboard memory over the amount of fans. if the dual fan one has 2GB memory and a single fan card has 3GB, get the 3GB. The fans only really make a difference when it comes to overclocking, and I really don't see why you'd need to/want to with a 7970.

Although I'm pretty sure all the 7970s have 3GB in memory.

Do you have the moniter that can handle all those frames? cuz unless you do its kinda just a lot of unused power.

I happen to know that card in BF3 with everything maxed will get "only" 60 frames. I'm talking 16xAA 16xAF at maximum resolution (2560x1600 on a single display or using ATi Eyefinity with multiple monitors).
Re: building a computer! (finally)
As games increase in detail the frames per second he gets out of that card will lower but still provide 60 or higher frames. Enough for gaming. The point of buying a fast GPU like this is it will last longer through several generations of games.skoch26 wrote:Do you have the moniter that can handle all those frames? cuz unless you do its kinda just a lot of unused power.
