Psico45

One of the most popular, veteran players and former part of the staff team, Psico45! His name, once uttered, became familiar with his nation Seikilos and his grand town Amaranthos which earned him Legendary Crafter, second person and the first one to earn through application.

Who are you? When did you join RenMX?
I am psico45, or Psi as people usually call me. I joined the server on May of 2012.

What do you enjoy the most in our server?
Why I enjoy the most of this server is the security. I'm not sure if people appreciate this enough, given all of the wonderful features that this server has but the security of it (how stable, no resets to the map, etc) is amazing. The fact that there are builds there from 2012 that I started is proof of that.

What types of creations do you like to create?
My favourite style of building is Greco-Roman so you'll probably see a lot of buildings with that influence. An example would be the combination of slanted roofs with domes. And gardens! I enjoy making those the most.

How do you plan before you create?
I usually get the inspiration to build the next thing when I am doing a current build. I start to envision what would look nice right next to a spot or what is missing from the town. I also use the DynMap a lot to know how to fit things properly.

Do you have any tips for us to craft better creations?
Plan ahead. I know that a lot of people like to build of the bat but having a design in mind helps a lot with spacing and everything else. That way you also have enough time to gather the resources that you'll need. Don't be afraid to go to creative and test out how it will look. I can assure you that I personally do that often, build it in creative then try it in survival.

Any projects we look forward to?
I'm always trying to build something bigger and better than my last build so the answer is yet. I haven't decided what it will be for now, but chances are it will be a garden.

If you're going to implement a feature for RenMX, what would it be?
I don't really have a feature in mind per se. I would request that Legendary Crafters have the ability to use //drain or //fixwater since if they reach that level one could trust them with that, but since one is never too sure then I don't know how that will end.

What's your feedback about our community?
The community is alright. I've seen it change quite a lot throughout the years but to be honest it's always the same attitudes with different usernames. In a server as old and big as this one, you will always get the full spectrum of attitudes from every player there. However, I am happy to point out that the majority of users are very good players who I am happy to meet and help on a regular basis.

If you like to see more of his builds -check this album here!
I'm SUPPORTER and was the first Asian and youngest staff member at age 13.

This is a good interview I thought I'd reply to some of it.

Server Longevity:

I'm happy that you mentioned the server security and longevity. We've put a lot of thought into that and I just want to point out some of the work we've done in this area.

When we made this survival map in 2012 we knew that if we allowed players to just go anywhere they would quickly create a sprawling map of thousands of blocks. There is always someone that walks in one direction for hours.

The problem with that which we knew even in 2012 from our experience in 2010-2011 is as the game matured and had its biome creation code altered it would stop our players from experiencing the new biomes added by Mojang. It is for this reason we added a border plugin and we've slowly expanded it over the years so that we can give players an acceptable level of room to spread out but also experience all the latest biome types as the versions of the game came out.

I would say this is one of the major areas where many servers fail to plan ahead and I'm thankful that we sat down and had a discussion about using a border plugin three years ago.

Server Security:

The other thing I wanted to talk about was operational security. Our websites the ones we've coded ourselves have some of the best security available. We don't require you to create an account, there is no password for you to lose. That also means our players cannot use weak passwords that can be guessed to have your accounts on our shop/auctions/cards hijacked. It also means in the event of a security breach our database is useless to an attacker as it contains no users emails or passwords which could be used to breach your other accounts at other websites.

Our security system for logging into our services is in my opinion the gold standard. Very easy to use, complete security for us and our users at all times and it's a system that we've seen emulated at some other servers once they saw ours.

Apart from the logging system our websites also make use of CSRF tokens. These are important codes that are hidden from view but maintain your secure interaction to our pages through a digital signature. It's the same session security you'll find used at your banks website and it makes sure no one can send you a link (like on skype) that steals rennies from your account or makes you perform an action you didn't want to like buying items for another player or betting away your money.

Taking security this seriously is I feel very important because although it's just a computer game there is no reason not to do things well especially when we're competing with many other servers for the players that we have. Much of our security goes unnoticed like our hourly backup systems the CSRF Tokens, Passwordless login but they all come together to maintain our high security standards. We are currently looking at offering HTTPS (SSL) on all our webpages to further enhance security and I think we'll have that up soon.

Implementing //fixwater and //drain:

Psico in your interview you mentioned giving Legendary Crafters //drain or //fixwater - The reason we've not done this isn't because we don't feel LC's can't be trusted with those commands. We've restricted them because I feel those commands are cheating and on our survival server we want as much work as possible to be done by the players as intended by Mojang. Using sponges.

Well, in terms of the suggestions, it's alright since they are just that. I enjoy playing on survival so that is just part of the challenge.

As for everything else in terms of security and planning for the server, I personally want to thank you for all of the effort that goes into that. Trust me when I say this, it doesn't go unnoticed.

Thanks for the great server :)
