Want to increase your Minecraft experience? Make your builds pop with life, color and texture? Well I think it's time you got yourself a Texture/Resource Pack! So below I have made a How-to Guide to help players without any knowledge of how to get one and install properly. I tried to make it as easy as I can. If you have any Questions just post in the forum below or write me in game or on forums :) Ill be more then glad to help! Okay so let's get started.

1st off you will need to figure out what texture pack you want. There are so many options out there you might find yourself trying a few out before you find the one that suits you best.

Where to find resource packs? My Favorite place is

http://www.planetminecraft.com/resources/texture_packs/

or

http://www.minecrafttexturepacks.com/

My Favorite is Ozocraft so I would find the one I wanted to download. I would look for the one that matches my Client Patch so currently we are on 1.7.4 the reason why I want it up to date is so I get all the textures of the in game items, but using a outdated one will still work with the game but you wont see the updated items they will be displayed in default.
Okay so We Downloaded the texture pack.

You will notice it is in a zip file. DO NOT UNZIP THIS FILE!

You want to open your client up you will see: Single Player, Multiplayer, Options. You want to open Options.

Next you will see a screen like this one. It will say Texture Packs or Resource Packs, Open it.

it will open up a screen showing two rows the right one should have a icon in it and saying Default. The Left hand side will show you the Texture Packs you already have installed to your client.

Now at the bottom of that screen you will see Open Resource Folder, Open it and leave it open outta the way.

Find your downloads, and locate where the zip file texture pack is. When you find it you want to drag and drop the zip file into the Resource Folder we opened a few seconds ago. Once you dragged it into the Resource Folder you can close out of it. DO NOT UNZIP.

Now in your texture pack screen with the two side you will see your texture pack you added just now. (If it don't show up right away, close out the client and restart it following the same steps to open your texture pack screen. )

Once you see it you can put ur mouse over it and a add arrow will pop up over it.
Click the arrow and it will move it into your active Texture packs (Right Side). Default will always stay there so don't pay any mind to it.

Once you have your pack in the right hand side click done. This may take a minute or two to update the textures. Once it is complete you should notice even the screen you are in change.

And that is it! You have successfully installed your texture pack!

Some cool facts: You can open your resource packs in game without logging out and change which packs your using. just hit ESC and go to Options, Move the one you are currently using to the Left Side (Inactive Texture Packs) and the one you wish to use to the Right (Active Texture Packs).

At the request of a few friends I have listed a few of my favorite texture packs.

Ozocraft

Dokucraft

Wolfhound

http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/wolfhound/

Atherys Ascended

http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/t ... rmissions/

Also if you have the time should post the texture packs you have used or use with your thoughts on them :) Would be a great place for players to get feedback on whats good and whats not to save others time.
