Everything [Helix]

I've made this thread to hold everything associated with the town of Helix. Plans, current builds, ideas - the lot.

For members of Helix:
- I'd also like you to post what you've made in the town. This could be your own houses or anything else you've worked on. It would be great to hear an explanation of why you chose the style you did and any querks or clever aspects of it that you're proud of.

- Feel free to give your ideas on what the town needs or what you would like to see. If you feel confident building it, you'll have the freedom to do so :)

City centre:

The statue is the pride of the town, showing off it's fancy quartz finish in the day and a slight blue glow at night.

Still a work in progress, it will be the trading hub for residents to earn some emeralds. Currently the library is complete, selling various enchanted books at cheap prices.

Located in one of the four corners, the library boasts a great view of the statue. The library will be one of 8 locations within the centre, each dedicated to a specific trade.

The next location to be finished will be the blacksmiths. As opposed to the library, the blacksmiths has substituted much of the wood interior for stone, creating a less hazardous working environment for the little villagers.

For any puzzle lovers, I've started building a Puzzle Tower and I'm giving everyone (in the helix or any other town) the opportunity to create a puzzle of their own and put it in the tower.

The tower will have an entry fee (an emerald or something) and adventurers will be able to win prizes for completing levels. Each floor will be a different puzzle which must be completed for the player to progress. Puzzels should have some element of risk - either resulting in death when failing or introducing mobs through a spawner (but It's ok if there isn't). Puzzles should be made within a 13x13 area, the height should be kept as low as possible (small height = lots of floors), 15 blocks being the max height. As I'm generally quite a slow minded person - I'd rather puzzles be hard because of it's complexity rather than some time limit - so no redstone timers.

You should also assume that adventurers trying to complete the puzzles will have the permissions "switch" and "itemuse". They will not be able to place or remove blocks - I understand that this is challenging, but it restricts cheating and greifing.

Puzzles should be enjoyable and not some stupidly hard jumping puzzle. Try and aim for "Ahhhhh of course! That's how you do it!!!" - moments.

Puzzles I love include:
- Riddles
- Cryptography
- Logic Puzzles
