Read something interesting about the standards they want to put in place regarding the community side of the game.
There is an unfortunate tendency in some online communities to encourage behavior that is detrimental to the fun of a lot of players by allowing a rather toxic and unwelcoming atmosphere. We want to set a new standard and make the Guild Wars 2 community a mature, friendly, helpful and inclusive one that is recognized throughout the industry as being so.
I hope they can manage to uphold this sort of standard. Will hopefully make the game much more enjoyable.

What they should do is give you the ability in-game to give "thanks" to other users. So when people help you, you can press a thanks button on them and then they can display how many times they've been thanked above their avatar.

In Guild Wars 1 they had a system where you could show titles above your Avatar that you had earned. For example if you had uncovered all of the game world you would receive a Geographer title that you could display above your Avatar just below your name. There were similar titles for many PVE and PVP achievements.

I'm confident if they did that with helping it would make the gaming community much more welcoming to noobies. They could limit people to only giving out 3 thanks per day too so it wouldn't be farmed or wasted.

The prices for the game have been released and bloody hell are they pricey as fuck.

Physical Collectors Edition: £129.99
Digital Deluxe Edition: £64.99
Digital Standard Edition: £49.99

£50 for a game is a lot in my opinion. Especially one I've not yet played and don't know if I'll like it or not. I was expecting something more like £24.99 to £29.99. This is £20 more than I expected and that is just the standard one. The Deluxe which includes some extra game altering features is £64.99 .. ridiculous.

The collectors edition is also insanely priced. I hope Amazon lists boxed copies of this closer to an acceptable price because these prices I'm quoting are nuts.

I think there is something going on so that if you buy them for that price as soon they allow you to you can get access to the beta.

I think I will wait until they actually release it and see if it has come down slightly. Still, the average subscription for an MMO is now >£10/month so in the long run it's not toooo bad.

I'll wait for it to release. Those prices are stupid.
