Weird Words

I haven't made much of a contribution to these forums, and this sounded like a good idea, so here I am . I was in IRC and remembered that I found the word "Earth" particularly weird .This caused me to get curious about what words others find weird or stupid . So, If it's not much trouble, it would be nice if you could leave the word you find weirdest, and if you could, leave a reason why you find that particular word weird .

For example -

I think the word Earth is weird, because it sounds like a groan .

(Disclaimer: I don't really give a shit , I just wanted to do SOMETHING on these forums, and contribute to it in someway other than my old ban appeal )

use it in many sentences. Its a past and present tense word

I can read.
I have read.
