Headset

Thu Nov 22, 2012 7:10 pm

Anyone got any tips for a great USB headset, preferably with 7.1 virtual surround?

I've been using Logitech G35 for about a year now, although the drivers turned out to be complete shite. (sound popping, bass exploding and random white noise of death etc)

It'd also be great if they were comfortable, but I'm willing to sacrifice comfort over sound.

Please try to keep it within the £100-140 / $160-225 price-range.

I'm no expert but the Turtle Beach Earforce X11's are great and cheap, had them for 2 years now and they're still good as new.

Is there something equally good but for general music hearing because while I have no intention in taking them out of the house I would like quality hearing for music and movies. Or is that one just as good?

For music you want a headset that is ideally a 2.0 configuration meaning it has two speakers. The Corsair's I mentioned above have just two speakers they are 50mm so a very large size and produce very rich high and low tones. The benefit of this particular headset is if you want to use it for gaming or movies you can bump it up to 5.1 or even 7.1 surround sound through software virtualization and having a Corsair HS-1 with the same 50mm drivers and virtual 7.1 system I can attest to the high quality of the virtual 7.1 capability.

In my opinion the 1500 Vengeance is the best PC headset available right now from a price to feature comparison. There really is no other headset that is 2.0 for music but also offers 5.1 and 7.1 for Movies and Games that sound this good within this price bracket.
