So I downloaded WinMX once before and gave up because I didnt understand it and wasnt motivated to go out of my way and do so.

Now, with your new update of the renmx site , my interest has been sparked once more.

So basically I was wondering if you could sum up for me what it can do and why I would want to use it as opposed to other ways of downloading films and stuff and whether I should be daunted by the strange gui and the weird symbols and stuff?!...

The only good part about it is the chat part of it.

Don't use it for movies it sucks.

It's mainly about chat. It's like an alternative to IRC except it does have file sharing too if you wanted to. For example you join a room of users that love music and you can discuss and share music. Music you wouldn't usually know about to download. Same with Movies and TV.

But generally it's just about the chat. Bittorrent is way way way faster and superior in every way for files but of course it doesn't have any chat stuff.
