Brand new here. Server recommended by a friend.

Problem: after putting in address (yes I have checked again and again to make sure it is right) I'm told that Minecraft "Can't resolve host name". (This is for both survival and creative)

If anyone else has had this problem or if anyone has any idea how I could fix this I would be very grateful.

i know this player from previous servers, he is a sound lad and would suit our community well

This is a very unusual issue. Are you able to ping our server from command prompt? to do that, open command prompt and then type in ping mc.renmx.com and then hit enter on your keyboard.

Also, try seeing if this page works: http://map.renmx.com and report back if that works. Thanks.

Yep both of the "Dynamaps" work for me however I am running Mac so entered the text into terminal, the result being;

Followed by continuous lines of text along the lines of;

64 bytes from 94.174.70.105: icmp_seq=1 ttl=50 time=45.641 ms
64 bytes from 94.174.70.105: icmp_seq=2 ttl=50 time=49.126 ms
64 bytes from 94.174.70.105: icmp_seq=3 ttl=50 time=50.127 ms

Ok the connection should be working. Make sure you're using a normal copy of Minecraft v1.5.2 and try connecting to survival via: mc.renmx.com:3
