Ranking System (Idea)

I was playing around on Minecraft when a really cool idea came to my mind. We have ranks all sorted out and everything, but what if we could change up the whole style of it? Instead of going with step by step ranks, what if we could give players an option to customize their rank to what they usually do, such as redstoning, pixel art, or just building? This is my idea:
Ranks (From lowest to highest):
Rank 1: Grey-List (New to the server, haven't taken the quiz)
Rank 2: Member (Passed the quiz, part of the server)
Rank 3: Apprentice (Application was accepted, is on the server)
Rank 4: Engineer, Builder or Artist (Made a higher standard application)
Rank 5: Moderator
Rank 6: Admin
Rank 7: Owner
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My main focus on the rank system will be Rank 4, and I will explain exactly why. There are 3 options in rank 4:
Engineer: Focuses on Redstoning
Artist: Focuses on Pixel art, Sculptures, etc.
Builder: Focuses on making structures such as houses, buildings, etc.
In these 3 options for Rank 4 will also be minor ranks (Lower --> Greater):
Engineer --> Technician --> Designer (Rank color: Possibly Blue)
Artist --> Sculptor --> Artisan (Rank color: Possibly Yellow)
Builder --> Architect --> City Planner (Rank color: Possibly Light Blue)
In order to organize the application process for this, I was considering making one topic for one member. The members topic is where they put all of their applications. When they want to apply for another rank, they would put their application inside of their topic. As for the application format, it will be the same, but the points needed will increase. Considering that, you would only need 3 formats for all 3 options, and only one topic for a player. These are a lot of ranks, but in my opinion it defines the players characteristics, allowing them to customize their rank to what they usually do on Minecraft.
Considering that this was a little sketchy idea, any opinions or criticism will be wanted.
