Biome Balloons: Usage Statistics and Human Behavior Analysis

Have you ever noticed that the biome balloons in spawn have trapdoors on top of them?
Of course, I had to check logblock, and it seems quite a few people have...



I simply must wonder: what compels everyone to open and close them? If you saw a trapdoor on a balloon in real life, would you just go opening and closing it willy nilly? One person even came to a trapdoor, closed it a few times, then came back a month later and closed it a few more times! Do they jump in and try to burn themselves to death? Are they looking for easter eggs? I must know!

Being scientifically minded, I decided to survey all of the balloons within the actual biomes. Here are the results (Not counting multiple entries, which there were plenty of on some, or the ones that I mistakenly closed when meaning to check logblock)

Interesting. It seems Mountain 2 and River 2 are most popular. Maybe these areas see higher traffic? Perhaps they have a more attractive starting area, so people are more likely to stick around and notice the trapdoor? Any thoughts?

They might be used more, I guess we could add a couple more balloons for 1'7'4 in these biomes?

When we switch to 1.7.4 we do intend to move all of the biome balloon positions in to the new 1.7.4 generated areas. We also intend to have at-least 3 warp spots for each area.
