Changes to Legendary Crafter Rank

Now I launched the Legendary Crafter rank on March 16th and honestly I expected by now we would see a legitimate submission for the rank. That hasn't happened so I'm going to give you an extra avenue to get the rank.

It costs $99 USD. Not cheap, this reflects the exclusivity of this rank. Only 5 users can ever have this rank simultaneously. To sweeten the deal I am going to give this rank the money that it comes with too. So when you spend that $99 you don't just get /time /weather and a coloured name you also get the 100,000 Rickies to build with.

I don't know if anyone will actually buy the rank but that's okay because simply having it there will make people ask about that rank, how they can get it and it makes it a very desirable rank for people to gain (by building) due to it being worth $99 USD.

Cool, it really worth $99 because once you get that rank, you have exclusive features that Mods don't have.

I think this is a silly idea. My reason? Well in my opinion, build-worthy ranks should only be gainable throughout building!Not donating over a specific amount of money :/ I believe it takes the fun out of having the rank if you get it legit. To be TOTALLY honest right now, when I got my CP rank, I was really happy, and thought it was an amazing achievement, but then I saw people donating for it, which kinda took that good accomplished feeling away All Im saying is, let ranks achieved from building be separate from donator ranks. Make separate levels of donation ranks maybe? This is MY opinion.

I won't be separating the ranks out that people can earn vs what they can buy. And you shouldn't feel like a lack of achievement for the rank you have, your rank is worth $30. If you applied yourself you could get one of the 5 positions of Legendary Crafter. Worth $99. That is an achievement.

And besides I've been funnelling money in to this community for 6 years. Three of those last ones including Minecraft. Money doesn't grow on trees, making ranks accessible to buy helps me to recoup some of the costs associated with running this community.

Costs including the hardware upgrades, the internet access, the electricity, the game prizes, our website hosting, and our domain names. The donations I've received so far have paid for some of our game prizes and some of our domain renewal costs, that is about it. The big things like the multi-thousand pound server and our website hosting I doubt will ever get recouped but providing the purchasing of ranks and rickies helps, some.

Another byproduct of purchases is when someone purchases a rank or other things like in-game currency they are more likely to keep playing on our server due to that monetary investment. If they start playing somewhere else they lose the benefit of their contribution. Thus benefiting the servers population by keeping people engaged for longer.

Part of the requirements was to plan for months, and so I have been doing. The great hall is now finished and I hope to add a bit more before I can actually submit to what can be called Legendary.
