My new Avatar

You guys may have already seen it on the forums, if you haven't there it is to the left.

I got my Intuous 5 Wacom tablet the other day and I've been trying it out on a lot of different stuff so I thought I'd spruce up my Avatar. So I thought I'd go back to the source image (the one with the gun by another artist) and re-do mine from scratch so here is the original I worked from:



That is actual size and it's a pretty degraded image actually.

And here is my version before resizing for my Avatar:



I've added rain, splash marks, painted over the image using my wacom in a stylised fashion (oil brushes) and of course I've removed the gun because I just don't like that part of the image.

Wow! I just wish I can draw like that. You gave the real use of Photoshop. Did you really made it from scratch? It looks excellent.

I hope you can give us tips in making such an artistic avatar like yours. I'm not sure if my tablet was hidden somewhere.
P.S. I like the border.

wow that is really, really awesome.... it kinda makes me want to buy one of those tablets :O
but of course, i would use it once then get bored of it, and that would a waste of money.... still, its really awesome1
