Indeed it is a pricy case. I paid about £330 for the case and the window is only sold separately which was another £70. The window for this Lian Li cost more than my old case did lol.

The server case I use is a Lian Li also the PC-343B which retails for about £250.

Desktop case USA: $514
Desktop Window USA: $100
Server Case USA: $390

I really do like the Lian Li cases though they are all aluminium construction and very high quality. The PC-X2000 which is the desktop case came with acoustic dampening material on the inside and a six drive backplane at the bottom which is quite a high end feature. I really like how it's all compartmentalised so you can separate components out and hide cables.

My next project is Colossus 2.5 - It's a major update to my main server. I'll be documenting it with pictures once I have some more parts for it. Still waiting for Samsung to release their 3TB drives. But basically it's going to use these parts:

HP SAS Expander (Already got this on ebay for £110, retails £330)
LSI 9260-8i RAID card (£450, will probably buy this from scan.co.uk)
30 x 3TB disks (90TB combined) I'm looking to pay about £100 each which is why I need Samsung to release theirs
I'll also be using three backplanes most likely no-name OEM models. About £80 each.

And finally I'll be adding in 48GB of Memory using 6 x 8GB RAM modules (1333MHz CAS9) I've not yet decided on a manufacturer as it doesn't really matter RAM is RAM. But It's looking to be about £80 per stick for £480 total on memory.

Once I have these new parts I'll be selling my 24GB of Memory, two HighPoint 2320 RAID cards and other components.
