I recently blindly purchased this motherboard here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813188073
Without realizing that p67 is predominately a second gen chipset. Will an i5 3570 work with the above stated motherboard? I have not checked if BIOS upgrades would help.

Re: Ivy Bridge + P67 questions
Pretty sure any Ivy Bridge processor will work with Socket 1155 motherboards.

Re: Ivy Bridge + P67 questions
That motherboard doesn't work with Ivy Bridge sorry. Sandy Bridge only.
It would work if EVGA would release a bios update to support Ivy Bridge but they have not done so and will not do so either. The last BIOS update for this board was about a year ago.
In short: It's a piece of junk & word to the wise, stay the fuck away from EVGA motherboards nothing but shit.

Re: Ivy Bridge + P67 questions
I suggest ASUS. I have received nothing but quality from them, be it monitors or computer components.

Re: Ivy Bridge + P67 questions
I also like ASUS obviously as my last two motherboards were by them

If you look at my blizzard build, that was my original choice. An asus board. I bought this one due to the discount.

Re: Ivy Bridge + P67 questions
I'll have to agree, ASUS is probably your best choice.
