Is it possible to have 2 sets of the exact same ram in at once? What i mean is the ram is the same butnot the size.

So 2 Sticks of 8gb , 9 latency , 1.5v : and 2 sticks of 4 gb, 9 latency, 1.5v

would this cause any issues?

It may work and it also may not work. It is not recommended to mix and match RAM of different make, speed or capacity.

I would definitely warn you against purchasing RAM of different capacity.
